Adobe Acrobat Acrobat X Pro is a popular computer program developed by Adobe Systems, designed to view, create, edit and manage files in Adobe's PDF file format.

If you are only looking to create PDF files, the functionality is available already within Microsoft Office. Adobe Acrobat X Pro is useful if you want to manipulate PDF files further.

Suffolk University offers faculty and staff Adobe Acrobat X Pro software for office and home computers through the Cumulative Licensing Program for Education (CLP). the Adobe Home Use Program. If interested, all full time employees are eligible to receive a license that allows for access to the entire Adobe CS 5.5 Design Premium suite, through which you can get Adobe Acrobat. You will be choosing to download the trial version and then inputting the license to activate it.

In order to save disk space on your computer, we recommend you only install the software that you will use, even though you can pick and choose from among 10 different software products.

Adobe Acrobat X Pro for Home

1. How can faculty and staff obtain Acrobat X Pro for home?

Currently, there is only one way of getting Acrobat for home:

1. Bring your computer to OTM and we will install it for you. You must open a ticket and schedule a time with usFaculty or Staff Users should visit the ITS Help desk in Sawyer with your valid Suffolk ID in order to obtain a unique license key.

Note: We cannot loan you the install CD due to Adobe's licensing restrictions. You will need to bring your computer on campus.

2. How many copies of Acrobat X Pro can faculty and staff get?

Faculty and staff are only eligible for one (1) installation of Acrobat. Choose your computer wisely.

3. What platforms can I get Acrobat X Pro for?

Adobe Acrobat Pro X and the entire Adobe CS 5.5 Design Premium suite for home is currently available for both Windows platform only.and Mac platforms.
