Cancellations and Delays Policy

Provost Barry Brown has issued a reminder concerning the University’s policy for work cancellation, delayed openings, and early dismissal due to inclement weather or other emergencies.

For announcements of cancellations, delays or closings, all employees -- faculty, staff, and administration -- should use the following sources of information beginning at 6:15 a.m.:

  • University information line, 866-312-2632
  • University Web page, www.suffolk.edu
  • Emergency notification networks: The University will send text and e-mail notification before 6:30 a.m.
  • Radio stations: WBZ 1030 AM, WBUR 90.9 FM, WHJY 94.1 FM, WZID 95.7 FM, WMLL 96.5 FM
  • News Channels: WBZ-TV Channel 4, WCVB-TV Channel 5, WHDH-TV Channel 7, WFXT-TV Channel 25, CW-TV Channel 56, WPRI-TV Channel 12, WJAR-TV Channel 10, WLNE-TV Channel 6

The decision on early dismissal of employees due to weather conditions will be announced by the provost.  This information will be delivered through a message to office telephone extensions, text or e-mail messages, and Web announcements.
