Please check the Office 2010 Upgrade Schedule and locate your date.
Not to worry. If you are not in on the day of the upgrade, OTM staff will power on the computer in your office and complete the Office 2010 Upgrade Steps. When you return, your computer will already be upgraded and ready for use.
The upgrade steps are the same as everyone else. However, on the day of the upgrade please make sure you connect your laptop to the university network via the blue ethernet cable. Once connected, follow the Office 2010 Upgrade Steps.
The upgrade system is setup to detect if your laptop has been upgraded. The next time you are on campus and connected to the network, the upgrade will automatically run after you login. The process should take about 30 minutes.
No. The Office 2010 upgrade requires 15-20 minutes to complete when you start up your office computer on the day of the upgrade. It only upgrades your version of Office from 2007 to 2010. Services such as Email, Blackboard, My Documents or internet access will not be affected.

Yes. Office 2010 will run on Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and newer versions of Windows.
Yes. Files created in older versions of Office can be opened in Office 2010
Yes, Office 2010 files can be opened with Office 2007. If you have Office 2003, XP or 2000 then you will need to download the free Compatibility Pack. This pack is already installed on all SBS computers.
