Mac OS X Users Unable to Run Java: Affects Wimba and Collaorate

Announcement from Blackboard: Tuesday, February 5, 2013 - Due to an Apple update, some Mac OS users are unable to run Java. TThis issue was caused by an Apple update on 1/31/2013. This issue will prevent users from opening any Java based application including Blackboard Collaborate Web Conferencing, Elluminate Live!, SAS, Blackboard Collaborate Voice Authoring, and Wimba Classroom. Oracle Java has since released an update to resolve this issue. We recommend that you update your version of Java.

Wimba Classroom Users - Check your version of Java

Many of the problems you may encounter when using Wimba Classroom can be attributed to using an outdated version of Java.

Please click the link below to download the newest version of Java.

You will want to choose to download the Offline Installation that fits your operating system.  When the file prompts you to Run or Save the file, please click Save and save the installation file onto your desktop.  Once the download is complete, double click on the installation file on the desktop to begin the installation.
