The Suffolk Emergency Plan (SEP) provides a system of response for emergencies involving the University. It is designed to guide in the protection of life and property in the event of a fire, explosion, or other emergencies. Employees, tenants and users should become familiar with the contents of this plan, and become aware of the procedures for an orderly evacuation in the event of an emergency.

The SEP, combined with occupant familiarity with a building, minimizes threats to life and property. In addition, 527 CMR 10.13 and the Boston Fire Department require that University buildings have a written emergency plan. This plan applies to emergencies where occupants may need to evacuate the building for personal safety.

The SEP is intended to communicate the policies and procedures for occupants to follow in an emergency situation.
