  • Alert all personnel in the immediate area of the spill
  • Isolate the area
  • Call Suffolk University Police Department (SUPD) at (617) 573-8111 or extension 8111
  • Tend to the injured person(s) if properly trained. Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Contact the Office of Environmental Health & Safety at (617) 573-8628 or (617) 570-4849
  • SUPD or the Office of Environmental Health & Safety will notify a contractor to clean up the spill, as well as other departments or resources as needed

  • Anyone having an exposure to a biological, blood borne or body fluid should vigorously wash the exposed area with soap and water for several minutes
  • Employees who are involved in an exposure incident should report it immediately to SUPD by calling (617) 573-8111 or extension 8111. A report will be filed and first aid will be provided as necessary
  • Anyone involved in an exposure incident should seek medical treatment if they have a concern that the exposure may affect their health
  • Students who are involved in an exposure incident are encouraged to report the incident to the Office of Health & Wellness Services
  • All exposures must be reported to the Office of Environmental Health & Safety at (617) 573-8628 or (617) 570-4849
