Suffolk issued laptop. Should I do anything different?

The upgrade steps are the same as everyone else. However, on the day of the upgrade please make sure you connect your laptop to the university network via the blue ethernet cable. Once connected, follow the Office 2010 Upgrade Steps.

I have a University issued laptop, but I won’t be on campus during my scheduled upgrade slot.  What do I need to do?

The upgrade system is setup to detect if your laptop has been upgraded.  The next time you are on campus and connected to the network, the upgrade will automatically run after you login.  The process should take about 30 minutesPlease complete the 2013 Windows Upgrade Instructions. Once you confirm you've completed the steps, we will provide further details.

Will the upgrade disrupt my work?

NoYes. The Windows upgrade requires 15-20 minutes a few hours to complete when you start up your office computer on the day of the upgrade. Services such as Email, Blackboard, My Documents or internet access will not be affected. If you are on campus, we will coordinate with you personally to minimize disruption.

Will Office 2010 run on Windows 7?

Yes. Office 2010 will run on Windows 7.
